Same problem, I was playing the game yesterday and it worked, today now its saying warcraft 3 already running after the so called 'UPDATE' happens, Re- installed game 3 times now and same problem, Need a fix

For anyone still trying to get past this problem, here's what worked for me.
Open up Warcraft III Launcher.exe in your Warcraft III folder, wherever you installed it. Usually program files.

Guys, i have both physical and digital copies (2 diff cd-keys) I tried both and didnt work, when i get home today or this weekend im going to try metalmans suggestion and his step by step process. has anyone tried this yet? any luck?
Also, has the admin that posted April 14th gotten back to anyone? its been 10 days and doesnt seem like anyone from blizzard has followed up. Can we get an admin to follow up please?

Guys, the guy above me is right . Use the Warcraft III Launcher, it will do the update automatically and now it works .. wow crazy stuff. Im on battlenet now

Lucky you, I tried it and then I couldn't even run the game. It told me to insert my cd, and my game was downloaded lol.

Hi guys,
So I started with the same issue, and tried running the programme as an admin, which allowed me to download the patch but I'd get the same message 'warcraft 3 already running'.
So I tried to use the Warcraft III Launcher exe as other people have suggested. It would load up, I'd tick the boxes; but nothing would happen, the download would stay fixed at 0% (this is in your programme files x86 or wherever you saved the game to).
However upon opening the loader from the chrome download bar from Blizzards support site:

(A page called Patching classic games)
The launcher started to work, I believe because the loader from Blizzards website was updated 2 months ago. Where as the standard 1.07 loader has not been patched. Just have your CD keys at hand when it's done as it will ask you for them again.
So in summary, run the game in admin, right click properties 'run as admin', download the launcher from the blizzard page, and open it. The patch then downloaded for me.

Hey, I had this problem too, but I just launched Launcher exe and pressed repair, and it downloaded the patch for me.
